East Farmingdale, NY-  Oppressive humidity and temperatures feeling like 100 degrees are expected to saturate Long Island through Thursday.  The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in effect through from Wednesday at 11am through Thursday at 8pm.  Temperatures on Wednesday could feel like 103 degrees and even higher on Thursday, feeling near 105 degrees.  Ahead of the potentially record breaking temperatures, PSEG Long Island sent a message to customers Wednesday asking that thermostats be set at 78 degrees and that electric usage be reduced during the hottest parts of the day, between the hours of 2-8pm.  Several cooling centers will be open through Thursday in Nassau County.  A list of available cooling centers in Nassau County can be found here.
