Pet shop to pay $300,000 to customers that bought sick pets

The New York Attorney office announced on Friday that Shake A Paw pet shop will have to pay $300,000 to 190 customers that bought sick pets.
Shake A Paw, which has a locations in Hicksville and Lynbrook, was sued after an investigation showed that the company falsely advertised sick pets as healthy, failing to disclose medical issues, and refused to reimburse customers for veterinary bills.
Authorities said that the health problems facing the puppies were consistent with those purchased from puppy mills.
