There was a rally held in Long Beach on Sunday to protest the Rapid Act proposed by Gov. Kathy Hochul
The Rapid Act would streamline the environmental review process for underground transmission lines related to offshore wind projects.
Protesters say the Rapid Act will take away the voice of the community.
Hochul proposed the measure in her State of the State address. She says it will speed up the transition to renewable energy.
