Nassau County Police arrested a drunk driver with three children in the car after he hit a tree in Garden City Monday evening.
Around 7:00 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call for an auto accident. According to detectives, Ruben Gonzalez, struck a tree with a adult female passenger and Gonzalez’s three children – ages 4, 9, and 11 in the car.
All four were transported to an area hospital for treatment, the 4-year-old girl suffered a minor back injury.
Gonzales was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated under the Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child and multiple vehicle and traffic laws. He was placed under arrest without incident.
