A 30-year-old man is in critical condition after falling into the water while fishing in Wantagh.
He was fishing with three friends on the Greene Island Fishing Pier early Sunday morning when he fell into the water. One of his friends jumped in to help save him.
Both men drifted approximately a half mile west of the pier where they were rescued by Nassau County’s Marine Bureau.
The man who first fell in was found unresponsive and not breathing; officers performed CPR and transport him to a nearby hospital, where he was in critical but stable condition. His friend was uninjured.
