Authorities began digging with a backhoe in the backyard of Rex Heuermann’s Massapequa Park home late Sunday afternoon as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigators have not revealed what, if anything, they have found at the house over the weekend.
Since his arrest, investigators have also searched two storage units in connection with the case. The investigation is expected to wrap up this week.
