Congrats to Melissa McCarthy who is the cover star for People’s 2023 “Beautiful Issue.” Melissa first gained attention as Sookie on Gilmore Girls and since then is known for her comedic roles in Bridesmaids, Identity Thief, Mike & Molly, and The Heat… but she has a rather long resume! Her most recent project is the Disney live action The Little Mermaid where she will play the villain Ursula.
“I thought the younger version of myself or everybody out there who maybe isn’t like the youngest, the whatever, I kind of felt like it was saying something really lovely to my younger self, to my 20-year-old self,” Melissa told People. “Maybe to other people too.”
