The final Halloween movie, Halloween Ends, topped the box office this weekend. The final installment in the Halloween trilogy opened with $41.2 million. While it topped theaters this weekend it is the lowest opening for one of these Halloween films. It is only the twelfth film of the year so far to open to $40 million or more.
