WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration has told hospitals they “must” provide abortion services if the life of the mother is at risk. The ruling says federal law on emergency treatment guidelines outweighs state laws in places that now ban abortions after the Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion. The federal law requires medical facilities to determine whether a person seeking treatment may be in labor or whether they face an emergency health situation — and to provide treatment.
