PD: Good Samaritans rescue woman from car fire on Southern State Pkwy

Lindenhurst, NY- New State Police say it was two Good Samaritans who rescued a Long Island woman from a car fire, Wednesday night. Police say a 58-year-old West Sayville woman was traveling eastbound on the Southern State Parkway by Wellwood Avenue/Exit 35, when her vehicle crashed into a tree and caught on fire. That’s when police tell us Christine and Karl Ott of Sayville, pulled over and helped pull the victim from the burning car. The victim was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call NY State Police Troop L at 631-756-3300.
