East Farmingdale, NY- New York drivers are facing sticker shock at the pump as the price of gasoline continues to climb. AAA says the national average price of a gallon of gasoline is $4.97, higher in New York at $5.00 and even higher on Long Island with the average in Nassau at $5.02 per gallon and $5.01 in Suffolk County. Just last week New York State suspended some gas taxes to help alleviate the price of a gallon of gasoline but some say, it’s not enough with prices soaring to record highs.
