Cold Spring Harbor, NY- Wednesday’s gusting winds, found a windsurfer in some trouble in choppy waters in Cold Spring Harbor. Nassau County Police say they got a call about a distressed wind surfer in the water in Cold Spring Harbor around 5:15pm. Nassau County Police Marine bureau worked alongside the Cold Spring Harbor Master, Suffolk County Police Department and the Suffolk County Aviation to search and rescue the victim. Officials say three Nassau Police officers rescued the male from the water, who they say was near exhaustion and at risk of hypothermia.
