Mask on or mask off?  Where you still need a mask on Long Island

East Farmingdale, NY- Mask off or mask on? It can be a bit confusing these days to know when if or a person is expected to cover their nose and mouth, in the name of public health. Earlier this week a Florida judge voided a federal transportation mask mandate then on Wednesday the Centers for Disease Control said masking on transportation was still necessary. Now the Justice Department has announced they will file an appeal to overturn the Florida judge’s ruling. In the meantime, in New York State, here’s what you need to know about masking on Public Transportation.

On Long Island masks are still required in the following locations;

  • On board the Long Island Rail Road
  • Inside MacArthur Airport
  • On board Nassau County NICE Bus
  • On Board Suffolk County Transit Bus

Masks are also required at the following nearby locations;

  • JFK Airport
  • LaGuardia Airport
  • MTA Bus
  • MTA Subway
  • Metro North Trains
