Man arrested after police chase in Hauppauge

Hauppauge, NY- A Queens man was arrested on Sunday in Hauppauge on charges including fleeing police and reckless driving. Officials say they got a 911 call about vehicles racing on Commerce Drive around 3:31pm and when they arrived to the scene they observed vehicles lined up preparing to race. Police say they activated sirens and attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the driver, Michael Beyer, 26, of Glendale, NY took off, weaving in and out of traffic before finally coming to a stop near Moreland Rd. Breyer was charged with Reckless Driving and Unlawful Fleeing an Officer in the 3rd degree.
