Police search for missing Long Island mother & child

Hempstead, NY- A Long Island mother and child, have been reported missing. Nassau County Police say 1-year-old Diego Sierra-Flores was last seen at his home on the morning of Friday, April 1st and reported missing on Wednesday, April 6 at 4:30pm. Police believe that Diego, is possibly with his mother, Yansis Sierra-Mejia, 25, of Hempstead. Police believe that Diego and his mother may have traveled to Virginia.

Diego is described as male, hispanic, 24 inches tall and 25 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Yansis is described as female, Hispanic, 5’4″ tall and 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the missing are asked to call the Nassau County Police Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7374 or contact 911.
