Melville, NY- A Wyandanch man with a gunshot wound was arrested Sunday night on drug charges after crashing his vehicle in Melville. Officials say Daquan Cannon, 31, was driving a 2011 BMW sedan eastbound on the South Service Rd east of Rt 110, when the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. Police say Cannon, fled the scene of the crash and was located by the Canine section about 40 minutes later. Cannon was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Second Squad charged Cannon, with , with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance7th Degree. He was also charged with an outstanding warrant. Cannon will be arraigned at later date.
