(Stony Brook, NY)- Police in Suffolk County are searching for the driver who struck and killed a female pedestrian and fled the scene. Police say the accident happened early Monday morning in front of 2350 Route 347 in Stony Brook. Officials say Gina Paduano, 33, of Centereach was in the westbound lanes when she was hit by a vehicle at approximately 5:15am. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
