BABYLON, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a man was shot and injured when he broke into the suburban New York home of an off-duty police officer. The Suffolk County Police said the man was attempting to burglarize the home early Saturday morning in West Babylon when the man was shot by the homeowner, a New York Police Department officer. Police said the man, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
