(Brentwood, NY)- A Suffolk County Police Officer was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital on Sunday night, after his vehicle was struck by an alleged drunk driver. Police say the accident happened in the intersection of 5th Avenue and Arizona Avenue at 9:17pm. Nicolas Chicas, 48, of Bay Shore, was traveling northbound on 5th Avenue when he attempted to turn right onto Arizona Avenue and crashed into the drivers side door of a marked police vehicle. Officers at the scene determined that Chicas, was intoxicated. Chicas, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
