(Riverhead, NY)- A Valley Stream man was killed in a motor vehicle crash, Thursday night in Riverhead. Riverhead Town Police say they got a 911 call just before 5pm about a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee driving erratically and failing to maintain its lane on Sound Avenue. The vehicle, then crossed over into oncoming traffic and crashed head on, into a Riverhead Central School District bus. The operator of the Jeep, John A. Caputo, 31, of Valley Stream was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The occupants of the school bus were uninjured. Riverhead TOwn Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call 631-727-4500 ext 328.
