East Farmingdale, NY- Will it be an early spring or could we be facing six more weeks of winter? Today is Groundhog Day and our Long Island ground hogs are split on the decision. Suffolk County’s Holtsville Hal who resides at the Holtsville Ecology Center predicts an early spring. Meanwhile, Nassau County’s groundhog Malverne Mel, says we are in for six more weeks of winter. WALK-FM Chief Meteorologist Pat Pagano agrees with Mel saying Long Island could be looking at, “at least six more weeks of winter if not more”.
