Warming Centers open as temps drop

East Farmingdale, NY- Warming Centers have opened in Nassau and Suffolk Counties as temperatures plummet across Long Island.

In Nassau County, 24 hour Warming Centers are available at

  • Cantiague Park Administration Office – 480 W John St, Hicksville, NY
  • Wantagh Administration Building – 1 King Rd, Wantagh, NY
  • Mitchel Field Administration Building – 1 Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Uniondale, NY

In the Town of Oyster Bay, Warming Centers are available from 8am-9pm at

  • Marjorie Post Park Ice Rink (Skate House) – Unqua & Merrick Roads, Massapequa
  • Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center – 1001 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage

In Suffolk County, the Town of Riverhead has opened a Warming Center from 9am-4pm at Riverhead Senior Center. Residents who need immediate shelter can also contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.

The Department of Social Services has activated the WARM BED HOTLINE at 1-866-927-6233.
