East Farmingdale, NY- Be prepared to either show your vaccination status or put on a mask because starting today in New York State businesses have to choose either to check vaccination status or require masks to be worn- they can not do a mixture of both. The New York State Department of Health issued the updated COVID-19 protocols on Friday. New York State Governor Hochul said over the weekend that “since thanksgiving the state has seen a 49% increase in COVID-19 cases”. The governor also noted that some hospitals across the state are feeling the stress of the pandemic with an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations. The new COVID-19 guidelines are in effect until January 15, 2022.

The New York State Department of Health has created a frequently asked question section about the new guidelines for both residents and business owners which can be found, here.
