Riverhead, NY- A 20-year-old Riverhead woman was allegedly stabbed to death Thursday night by her live-in girlfriend. Police in Suffolk County say Riverhead Town Police, responded to 1142A East Main St. at 11:58 p.m. on November 18 for a call of a disturbance. When officers arrived, there was no one at the home and there was evidence of a struggle. Responding officers located a female stabbing victim at nearby Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead a short time later.
The victim, Marta Esmerelda Ramirez-Carbajal, 20, was pronounced dead. The victim’s girlfriend, Karen Abigail Delacruz-Reyes, 21, who was also at the hospital, was charged with Manslaughter 1st Degree.
Delacruz-Reyes will be arraigned today at Riverhead Justice Court.
