Mask up or pay up, MTA to start issuing $50 fines to unmasked riders

East Farmingdale, NY- The MTA issued a warning to riders on Wednesday afternoon that starting on Thursday, they will begin issuing fines for passengers who aren’t wearing masks. MTA officers will be enforcing the federal mask requirements on the Long Island Rail Road, MTA Buses, NYC Subway system and Metro North Trains. Unmasked riders, could face a $50 fine.
