Police call boyfriend of missing LI woman a “person of interest” as search continues for Blue Point native, Gabby Petito

East Farmingdale, NY- Police in North Port, Florida on Wednesday tweeted that Brian Laundrie, the travel companion and boyfriend of Gabrielle Petito, was now “a person of interest” in the disappearance of the 22-year-old Blue Point native. Gabrielle’s parents reported their daughter “Gabby” missing to Suffolk County Police on September 11th. On September 1st, Laundrie, returned to his parents Florida home where the two had been living together, with Gabby’s van but without Gabby. Laundrie, hired a attorney and so far has refused to cooperate with police or Gabby’s family. North Port police said by not cooperating, Laundrie is hindering their investigation. Police say Gabrielle’s last know whereabouts are believed to have been in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. Gabby last last spoke with her family, on August 25th. North Port, Florida Police are the lead investigators on the case and all tip calls on the whereabouts for Gabby should be made to the FBI at 800-CALL-FBI.

Utah Police had pulled the couple over in August, the police body camera video is available here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJafbksSnJc&feature=youtu.be
