As pandemic lockdowns ease across the United States, millions of Americans are set to take tentative steps outdoors to celebrate Memorial Day, the traditional start of summer. But public health officials are concerned that if people congregate in crowds or engage in other risky behaviors, the long weekend could cause the coronavirus to come roaring back. East Farmingdale, NY-  Officials in Nassau County say they’ll be closely monitoring the waters off Nassau County’s South Shore after two days of shark sightings.  Nassau County Executive Laura Curran says Nassau County Police Marine Bureau will be patrolling the waters by boat any by air with helicopters monitoring the beaches to alert swimmers and beach goers of any potential shark’s.  Last year several sharks were spotted in the ocean waters along Long Island’s South Shore- no attacks or injuries were reported.
