Several Long Island beaches are closed due to high bacteria levels

East Farmingdale, NY-  Several beaches in Nassau and Suffolk County are closed due to high bacteria levels.

The Nassau County Department of Health has closed Biltmore Beach Club in Massapequa and Philip Healey Beach in Massapequa due to elevated bacterial levels.  For up-to-date recorded information on beach openings and closings, call (516) 227-9700.

The Suffolk County Department of Health has closed the following beaches; Islip Beach in Islip, Sound Beach Property Owners Association East and Sound Beach Property Owners Association West in Sound Beach, Beech Road Beach in Rocky Point, Broadway Beach in Rocky Point, Terraces on the Sound in Rocky Point due to high levels of bacterial found in the water.  Suffolk County Bathing Beach Hotline 631-852-5822
