Heat Advisory & Air Quality Health Advisory in effect for Long Island

East Farmingdale, NY- For the second straight day a Heat Advisory is effect Long Island.  Forecasters say temperatures on Friday will reach the 90’s near 100 degrees.  At the same time the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation office has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Long Island and the NYC Metro area, with high levels of ozone detected in the air.  Health officials in Suffolk County say people with respiratory issues or heart problems, young children and seniors should limit outdoor activity during periods of poor air quality and high temperatures.
