East Farmingdale, NY-  Thursday night a powerful band of storms moved across Long Island flooding streets and stranding motorists in parts of the tri-state area.  Some commuters  had to be rescued from their cars on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx and on Long Island the storms took out the power for over 4,000 customers.  PSEG Long Island had most of the power restored for those customers by the time Tropical Storm Elsa arrived with the help from additional line workers from out of state.  To report an outage call 1-800-490-0075 or use the PSEG LI app on your smart phone.
