East Farmingdale, NY- After a week filled with sweltering heat Long Island goes into the 4th of July weekend with the threat of rain washing out beach days and barbecues.  WALK-FM Chief Meteorologist Pat Pagano, predicts cool temperatures with rain on Saturday, with a high temperature only reaching the upper 60’s near 70 degrees.  On Sunday, the 4th of July, expect some sun, an afternoon shower or thunderstorm, high temperature in the middle 70’s. And as for watching fireworks on Sunday night, Pat says we can’t rule out the possibility of a possible shower.  On Monday, the sun, heat and humidity will return with high temperatures in the 80’s.
