6-year-old boy hospitalized after motorcycle crash, driver arrested

Central Islip, NY- Suffolk County Police say a 6-year-old was ejected from a motorcycle during a crash on Monday afternoon in Central Islip.  Police say Lamar Samuel was driving a motorcycle eastbound on East Beech Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle traveling northbound on Prospect Avenue.  Police say both Samuel and his passenger, 6-year-old Emmanuel Garcia-Torres, were ejected from the motorcycle.  The child was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with serious physical injuries.  The driver, 39 year old Lamar Samuel, was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child in addition to vehicle and traffic violations.
