East Farmingdale, NY- First it was lottery scratch off tickets, then free two-day State Park passes and now, free college. On Wednesday New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, announced the state’s newest incentive to get a COVID-19 vaccine and that’s a chance at a free ride to college. The “Get A Shot To Make Your Future” campaign runs Thursday, May 27th through July 7th, anyone ages 12 through 17 who gets the Pfizer vaccine will be entered to win. Cuomo, joined by chief counsel Beth Garvey and State Budget Director Robert Mujica, today announced a new vaccine incentive for young New Yorkers between the ages of 12 and 17 who receive a COVID-19 vaccine to be eligible for a chance of 50 full tuition scholarships, including room and board, at a state university or local government community college in New York State. Every Wednesday, for the next 5 weeks beginning June 2, 2021, New York State will randomly select 10 vaccine recipients to win “full ride” scholarships. Each week, another 10 will be selected.
