Hempstead man intentionally crashed into a police car after he fled from a traffic stop.

Nassau police say a Hempstead man intentionally crashing into a police car Saturday night after he fled from a traffic stop.

Authorities say two Nassau narcotics detectives tried to pull over a man on Long Beach Road in Island Park. However, they say the man refused to stop and took off.

Police say the two officers later found the man on a dead-end street in Oceanside, the man then put his Porsche in reverse and intentionally rammed into the police vehicle, causing major damage to the car and injuring the two officers.

The officers were able to arrest 25-year-old Romaine Robinson, of Hempstead.

Police say they found a white substance on Robinson believed to be cocaine.
