Central Islip, NY- Suffolk Police say they arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a fatal car crash that happened on Thursday night in Central Islip. Officials say the teenager, was traveling eastbound on Locust Ave in a BMW when he struck the passenger side of a southbound Honda Accord. The impact sent the Honda Accord into oncoming traffic where it was struck on the drivers side by a northbound GMC pickup truck. Officials say the teenager fled the crash scene on foot and was later arrested. The driver of the Honda, a 52-year-old Brentwood woman, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The 17-year-old was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death. He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 16th.
