A person was killed this morning when their vehicle crashed into the ‘Welcome to Jones Beach’ monument on the southbound side of the Meadowbrook Parkway
Police say the crash happened around 8 a.m. The car involved was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the sign at Exit M10 of the Meadowbrook and caught fire,
Police say the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
