(East Farmingdale, NY)-  Ready or not, here comes Daylight Savings Time.  On Sunday, March 14th at 2am, we will “spring forward” our clocks one hour to 3am, losing one whole hour of sleep.  There has been talk recently on Capitol hill about ending Daylight Savings Time but no legislation has past so far that would prevent us from moving the clocks ahead one hour this weekend.  The effects of Daylight Savings Time have been proven to negatively impact our health.  According to the New England Journal of Medicine, more car accidents and more heart attacks, occur the Monday after DST. The American Psychological Association says more workplace accidents and injuries happen on the Monday after DST.
