South African COVID-19 variant, found in Nassau County

(East Farmingdale, NY)-  The first New Yorker to be found with the South African variant of COVID-19, lives in Nassau County.  Governor Cuomo made the announcement on Sunday, just one week after a Connecticut resident at a New York City hospital was also discovered to have the variant known as B.1.315.  Nassau County Exec Laura Curran, tweeted on Sunday that the, “best response is to continue tried and true precautions wear a mask, avoid social gatherings”.
