(East Farmingdale, NY)- Police in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties responded to over 300 motor vehicle accidents on Thursday. Wintery weather, snow heavy at times, reduced visibility and icy spots created dangerous driving conditions. In Suffolk County, officials say between the hours of 7:30am and 3:30pm, officers responded to 135 crashes. In Nassau County, officials say they responded to 179 motor vehicle accidents between the hours of 6am and 8pm. New York State Police Troop L say troopers responded to 57 motor vehicle crashes on Thursday across the island, 18 in Suffolk County and the rest in Nassau. None of the crashes on Thursday involved fatalities.
