(East Farmingdale, NY)-  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Long Island from Thursday morning into Friday at 7pm.  Two storm systems will create snowy conditions across Long Island for Thursday into Friday night.  WALK-FM Chief Meteorologist Pat Pagano, says the first of the two storms is tracking further to the south than originally anticipated which will lower our anticipated snow totals.  Most of the snow on Thursday will be light but bands of moderate snow are possible through 4pm.  One to three inches of snow is possible by Thursday night.  Thursday night expect a mix of sleet and snow, accumulations less than 1 inch.  On Friday storm system number two arrives and we will be back to periods of snow all day, additional accumulations of one inch of snow is possible. Snow tapers off by Friday evening.  Pat says when all is said and done by Friday night, Long Island could see 4-8 inches of snow.
