(East Farmingdale, NY)-  The storm that dumped snow on parts of the Midwest and left four million people without power in Texas is the one that’s causing rain today on Long Island.  Periods of rain will be heavy at times on Tuesday before clearing out in the afternoon. Foggy conditions expected around Long Island with temperatures rising to near 50 degrees.  Cold weather will return tonight with temperatures dropping back down into the mid 20’s.  Anything that melts on today, will re-freeze overnight creating potentially hazardous driving conditions on Tuesday night and into the early morning hours on Wednesday.  Another storm system will approach on Thursday with the chance of accumulating snow and sleet.
