New York State COVID levels drop to pre-holiday low

(East Farmingdale, NY)-  It’s starting to look like we might be getting closer to the other side of the second wave of the coronavirus in New York.  On Thursday, Governor Cuomo announced that the statewide positivity rate had dropped to 3.54%, the lowest level the state had seen, since the day before Thanksgiving, 2020.  On Long Island, the levels are a bit higher than the state’s overall average with the seven day positivity rate just over 5%.  In Nassau and Suffolk on Thursday, 1,741 people tested positive for COVID-19. Cuomo continues to urge New Yorker’s to practice social distancing, wear masks and follow COVID guidelines.
