(Stony Brook, NY) Police in Suffolk County are trying to find the person responsible for a fatal hit and run crash that happened on Route 347 in Stony Brook. Officials say on the morning of December 20, 2020, 54-year-old Ronald Destafano, of Lake Grove, was crossing Route 347 near Hallock Avenue, when he was struck and killed by a passing motorist. Police say the accident happened just before 7am and believe the vehicle that struck Ronald, was traveling westbound, might be silver in color and could have front end damage. Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
