Riverhead man charged in Shirley robbery

(Shirley, NY)-  Officials say they caught the man who robbed a jewelry store earlier this week in Shirley.  Police say on Tuesday afternoon, 22-year-old Joshua Wilson of Riverhead, allegedly smashed a display case at Kay Jewelers on Montauk Highway with a concrete brick and then demanded employees give him the key to open the case, before taking jewelry and running away on foot.  Seventh Precinct officers say they captured Wilson about a half mile from the store.  He was charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.
