(East Farmingdale, NY)-  Over the weekend New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, announced that the UK variant of the coronavirus had been detected on Long Island.  Cuomo said the person infected is a 64-year-old Massapequa man, who initially tested positive back in December.  According to the Associated Press, State Health officials are “working with contact tracers in Nassau County to identify additional potential exposures”.  In data released on Sunday, over 3,000 Long Islanders tested positive for COVID-19.
