ICU beds in Suffolk County reach 85% capacity

(East Farmingdale, NY)-  Suffolk County Department of Health announced Thursday that the county only has 15% of its ICU beds still available.  The limited number of ICU beds comes as the number of people infected with COVID-19 in Suffolk County continues to rise, another 2,194 people tested positive in Suffolk County on Thursday.  In recent weeks, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, had said in his press conferences, that hospital capacity could be determining factor that could prompt a region to go back on NY Pause, which would leave only essential businesses open.  On Thursday, the seven day COVID-19 positivity rate in Suffolk County, 10.4%, in Nassau County, 8.4%.
