A Shirley man has been arrested for allegedly killing a person and then setting the body on fire in his backyard Saturday.
Officials responded to reports of a fire, and when they arrived they say they found the burning corpse.
The fire was put out and the medical examiner is working to identify the victim and a cause of death. The victim is believed to be a male. The suspect was charged with second degree murder.
