A weekend shooting at a LI deli leaves 1 dead and 3 injured

(Copiague, NY)-  One man is dead and three other men suffered injured during a shoot out at a Long Island deli.  Suffolk County Police say that Saturday night, officers responded to a report of shots fired at La Vaquita Corp. deli, located at 2340 Great Neck Road, in Copiague, at approximately 6:10 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene they found four men had been shot inside the deli.  Police say 47 year old, Manuel Cruz-Hernandez  of Copiague died from a gunshot wound at the scene.  The owner of the deli, Bolivar Rodriguez, 61, of Amityville, as well as Juan Ramone Avilla Roque, 30, of North Amityville, and Daniel E. Acosta, 40, of Copiague, were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.

Homicide Squad detectives charged Dionicio Calderon-Oseguera, 62, of 395 Ferraris St., with one count of Murder 2nd Degree and three counts of Attempted Murder 2nd Degree.
