2020 became a smoother ride for some on Long Island

(East Farmingdale, NY)-  2020 has been a bumpy road for many but officials in Nassau County say the pandemic hasn’t put the brakes on a major roadway resurfacing project.  Nassau County Executive Laura Curran on Thursday said that the county surpassed its goal for the year with an unprecedented 172 lane miles paved.  Some of the roadways that got some extra attention in 2020, include segments of Old Country Rd in Garden City, Mineola, Carle Place and Plainview.  Portions of Lakeville Road, Peninsula Blvd, Community Drive and parts of the LIE service rd and Merrick Road were also repaired.

In 2021, the County has plans to rehab projects on Manorhaven Blvd in Manorhaven, Austin Blvd in Island Park, Grand Ave in Baldwin and the Ocean/Merrick intersection in Lynbrook.
