(East Farmingdale, NY)-  A powerful rain and wind storm passed across Long Island on Monday.  At times visibility was reduced with a driving rain and winds that gusted near 50 miles per hour.  PSEG Long Island reported over 25,000 customers were without power due to downed trees and wires at the height of the storm.  In a statement on their website, the utility company said it worked in the rain and overnight to restore power to almost every customer that was effected by the outages.
